Specialist Picture Books
My big books make reading to children easy and fun. Prompts and questions on every page help you create a magical and memorable experience.
The beautiful illustrations will capture children’s imaginations. The story is written using rhyme and repetition which makes joining in fun and easy for everyone.
This kind of storytelling comes from Japan and is called kamishibai which translates as paper theatre. Create your own theatrical experiences with my big books.
Every story comes with a dedicated Planning Ideas Pack which is bursting full of activity ideas linked to the story like these: make some ginger playdough or try and figure out other ways the gingerbread man could have crossed the river.
Every book comes with its own specially designed box for easy storage.
My books are 38 x 27 cm.
The Gingerbread Man set contains 13 cards, which consist of one front cover and 12 pages. Printed in the UK by Emmerson Press.
Great resource. Loved by children and teachers. As a specialist teacher I am always on the lookout for new resources. The kamishibai concept is fantastic for EYFS and special schools. The child can hear a great story, look at super (and large) pictures and the teacher has hands free to sign, point or (thinking special schools now) deliver a sensory story. Super find.
Bought this for friend’s kids after they loved Daphne and Stan so much, another book from The Sidlaw Hare. They love this one just as much!
This resource is amazing. The quality and material is of high standard. We are a closed setting at present due to lockdown so unfortunately we are unable to use this resource with the children. I have never seen/used this way of story telling before and think it is brilliant. I cant wait to share with my staff and children in September. I shall definitely be looking out for more half price offers.
The book is a really lovely quality and I love the interactive idea! Bought as a gift for a family of 3 young children. They should be able to all enjoy it in different ways
