Daphne and Stan is an original story written by Wendy Duncan and illustrated by Samantha Eynon.
Join Daphne the dog on her daily walk with her owner Stan who is always on the phone. Poor Daphne is lonely and sad until one day she spots the opportunity to go off on an adventure. Will Daphne return? Will Stan notice?
Handmade in the Sidlaw Hills, our frame allows you to create your own paper theatre. You can place the frame on a table, stool or on the floor next to you, freeing your hands which allows you to sign, use props or musical instruments.
Each story can be stored in its own beautifully designed container. Every story comes with a dedicated Planning Ideas Pack which is bursting full of activity ideas linked to the story. After you have enjoyed the story why not make some ginger play dough? Or make a chart of all different breeds of dogs that you know.
This type of storytelling is called kamishibai and comes from Japan. Using a frame is the traditional method used by the Kamishibai man. My frame has been specially designed and made for us by my Dad, Sandy Duncan on the Sidlaw Hills in Scotland. Our frames are made from pine and PVA wood glue. This is not a toy and it is not recommended to be used by children under the age of fourteen years.
